There are essentially two types of versions: Games produced by Paradox Interactive invariably have many versions.

Just keep your supply lines to the UK running, be prepared for a few of your convoys to be sunk, but you'll be fine. This article may contain outdated information that is inaccurate for the current version of the game. I tend to rely on overkill and use 4-5 infantry corps plus mountaineers (for Scotland) and marines (for Ireland / NI) which means you can overrun the UK in a few weeks, leaving London surrounded and your Barbarossa forces ready in the east. The UK can be taken very comfortably with a couple of infantry corps, another corps of tanks and some paratroopers, but it can be annoying once you start speading out.

If my cargo planes are still alive (they usually are) I give them a rest and get them sent over to the east ready for Barbarella. Once I have a couple more ports, usually Dover and Hull, I start sending convoys across. My cargo planes then drop supplies into Lowestoft to make sure my ground troops don't starve, then I start expanding. Until I feel comfortable about bringing in a convoy / supply line to Lowestoft I send some interceptors to Ipswich and set them to air superiority over Lowestoft. The paratroopers will be attacked pretty quickly by whatever land force the UK has left, but as long as I get some infantry in to take Ipswich I know I'm set up nicely. If there are any RN ships there they rebase within an hour or two, so that's when I send in my landing party. Once I think they're distracted I send paratroopers to East Anglia, take the port at Lowestoft. I usually have a radar station in Calais to keep tabs on the RN's movements. Once I'm raiding convoys regularly the RN will send out much of their home fleets to hunt your wolfpacks. I always try and distract the Royal Navy by sending my subs out into the Atlantic.
